Jenni Rivera The controversy behind the death of La Diva de la Banda
Jenni Rivera a popular Mexican singer known as La Diva de la Banda.
Born as Dolores Janney Rivera Saavedra to Rosa Saavadera and Pedro Rivera on July 2, 1969, in long beach California. Her parents discovered they were expecting while illegally crossing the border. Jenni's youth wasn't so easy. Rivera got pregnant at only 15 by Trino Marin because of this her parents kicked her out the house. She married Marin in 1984 and together they had 2 more children. She was mentally and physically abused by Marin, this led to depression and two suicide attempts. She eventually left Marin reconciled with her parents and started working with her dads record label - Cintas Acuario. Jenni very hopeful started singing in bars, she met Juan Lopez her second husband they then had two more children. He was jailed and died in prison in 2009. Jenni signed with Fonovisa in 1999 which was when her record "Que me Entierren con la Banda" hit. She then became known as "La Diva de la Banda. Later than she discovered that her first husband Marin, not only molested her two daughters but her sister too. Marin evaded capture for a long period of time, then was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Setting family scandals aside Jenni continued to making hit albums. She earned Grammys and Billboard nominations. Jenni was involved with charity work. She was spokeswoman for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She founded the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation which helped woman who had been victims of domestic violence, children with cancer and immigrants also. She became involved with business, she launched Jenni Jeans, Divine music, her very own fragrance, and cosmetics. During all this time Jenni's fame grew much more because she married former baseball player Esteban Loiaza. She also started several reality tv shows along with her family. Couple years later Rivera filed for divorce with Loiaza.
Jenni Rivera died after her final performance in Mexico on December 9, 2012 in a plane crash. She was traveling from Monterey to TlC, her plane went missing 10 minutes after departing, later found in Nuevo León, Mexico. Her music still lives within in us and will never be forgotten her music is her legacy.
Jenni Rivera faked her own death
The most consistent out of many theories is that Jenni Rivera is still alive and is faking her death. People believe this because the family benifted from the death of Rivera by being on news constantly. Seeing how the Rivera family has been in public about the the death of Jenni makes people doubt if she's still alive or not. The fact that her casket was closed with fans not being able to see her supports this myth.
Warning Before Death
Another theory - At Jenni's last concert it is believed that she was warned about her death a couple hours before her death. There is video where someone in the audience says "hoy la matan" which translates to "today she will be killed" after she sang Paloma Negra which was one of her hits dedicated to her daughter Chiquis. This would turn out to be her last performance ever. This video went viral, the family believed it was a hoax. Jennis dad said: "I haven’t seen it, nor I want to, because either way, it’s not going to bring my daughter back, and we don’t want to think that. What I can tell you is that we can’t believe much in those things. It’s so easy to add any sound. We will leave this in the authority’s hands, who are investigating the accident. About a year from now we will have the truth."
Alive or not?
The theory I believe in the most is theory number two 2 Warning Before Death. It's more credible, because I my self saw the video when it went viral and was quick to believe it. In the video you can hear someone say "hoy la matan." Later after departing Monterey Mexico her plane went missing. I believe that Jenni Rivera is dead because it is not likely that she is alive after her tragic plane crash. I also believe this because many images of human remains were leaked and from the looks of it, it was impossible for there to be survivors.
