Lone Mountain Families,
The Arizona Department of Education released the final Science test scores to all school districts last week. As a reminder, we have not had this type of testing data since 2019, this is the first year of the AASA state test, and the formula for calculating letter grades is updated. I am happy to say that due to these scores, Lone Mountain has been labeled with the letter grade of A .
We have a lot to celebrate and of courses there is always room for growth. Last week, I spent a day analyzing last year’s test data with other principals from across the district, and I will be meeting with our leadership team to develop and share strategies that we will be implementing to ensure we are continuously improving. We know that there are many great things happening in our school that are not recognized in a letter grade, but we also know that the public values these ratings, so we want to be sure to exceed those expectations as well. "SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN
This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a monthly prize drawing.
Join me in congratulating our SOAR award winners for October. Way to go Josie, Jamison, Cade, Carson, Abner, Waylen, Kennedy, Abby, Anna, Mason, Wes, Kinsey, Truett, Naomi, Charlie, Chase, and Bria.
LEARNING AT LONE MOUNTAIN
From the classroom to the playground, learning at Lone Mountain is always fun! This week's pictures focus on shopping in the STEAM store and our Storybook Parade. Thank you to our families for all of their support of our STEAM program this year. Our students are loving the projects and store items. We could not do many of the things we do, without our family and community support.
K-KIDS HOLIDAY DRIVE FOR FOOTHILLS FOOD BANK
Our LMES K- Kids want to help others this season. All donations can be brought to the front office the week of 11/14-11/18.
CCUEF GRANT RECIPEINTS
The Cave Creek Unified Education Foundation (CCUEF) granted 11 of our teachers with grants for their classrooms today. The Cave Creek Unified Education Foundation (CCUEF) is a registered Arizona non-profit foundation that supports the mission of the Cave Creek Unified School District (CCUSD). CCUSD is offering some wonderful Parent Academy classes for our parents. The best part about these is that they are all ZOOM offerings. This means, you can participate in these 1-hour classes and be at home cooking dinner, or in your car driving your child to practice, etc... We hope you are able to join us.
