Seiji Ogawa Discovered the mri

Seiji Ogawa was born January 19 1934 and he is 83 years old. He went to 2 Universities where he got a Ph.D ( Doctos of Philosophy) and a B.S degree ( Bachelor of Science). He is currently 83 years old.

Seiji Ogawa was the first person to discover the fMRI (functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging). He is called the "father" of brain functioning. Dr. Seiji Ogawa found the reason on what the functional and physiological imaging of the human body, mostly the brain, was based on.

Dr. Seiji Ogawa found the technology of the MRI by looking at the difference of blood oxygenation level ( Blood Oxygen level) to make a brain map of active neurons. This helped map the activity of the brain, helping see if there was anything invading healthy blood cells.

Seiji Ogawa got his B.S in the University in Tokyo in Apllied Physics in 1957. After studying there, his first time leaving Japan was to go to the U.S to study at Stanford University in California in 1967.

At Stanford he got his Ph.D and after his education he worked at AT&T bell laboratories for 33 years. He was know for being one of the most loyal employees who worked there.

In 2001 he joined the Ogawa laboratories. The company was known for the outstanding research work in the field of brain function, and Mr.Ogawa is the director of the company.

In 2008, Mr. Ogawa started working with the Neuroscience Research Institute in Korea. He worked there as a professor doing research on. fMRI. He worked on a 7 Tesla MRI system, which is just a type of MRI.

Ogawa's hard work lead him to recieve multiple awards. A few awards he recieved were the Japan prize, Gairdner Foundation International Award, and the GOLD Medal Award from Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
