Eris dwarf planet
Eris was discovered in October 21, 2003 by astronomers M. E. Brown, C. A. Trujillo and D. Rabinowitz.
Eris' rotational period or length of day is 1.079 earth day which is equal 25.90000 hours
Eris' orbital period or length of year is 203,830 days which is 5558.04 earth years
The average temperature on Eris is -231 C
Eris was first spotted by Mike brown during a Palomar Observatory survey of the outer solar system. There has never been any fly-by or land to explore Eris. At least not yet.
Sometimes Eris is so far from the sun that it goes beyond Neptune's orbit and the Kuiper belt, this place is called " scattered disc"
Eris like most planet has its own moon known as Dysnomia.
Eris got its name from an ancient Greek goddess of discord and strife. when Mr Brown saw it for the first time he stated "She's quite a fun goddess, really,"
Eris is quite bigger than Pluto and was considered the 10th planet of the solar for a long time, but with further study it was reclassified.
