Lotto68 50/50 Draw

Once again, the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation (NLSF) is offering full-time, part-time and casual employees of Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools a chance to win the 50/50 draw benefiting students. Try your Luck with Lotto68!!

A $5 entry fee is deducted through NLPS payroll for a chance to win the Lotto68 50/50 draw. There are two draws per month (one per pay period). Last year staff won $10,000 and graduating students were awarded $10,000 in scholarships. Find out more.

École Hammond Bay is one of the host schools for EDAS

This year, École Hammond Bay is one of the host schools for the Everyone Deserves A Smile (EDAS) project. Students will learn by taking action and inspiring their community come to a deeper understanding of homelessness and that everybody deserves to feel loved and cared for, regardless of where they live. Students from Fairview, NDSS, Brechin, Cinnabar Valley and École North Oyster are also involved.

During the project, student leaders learn about homelessness, addiction, compassion, local poverty, project management, self-care in service, gratitude and being 'change-makers.' On December 13, students will fill their hand-painted bags with a donated item which will be given out to those in need.

They are still in need of hundreds of pairs of warm socks, gloves, toques and scarves. You can donate in person or financially. More information is available in the poster below.

Grade 11 & 12 students can earn dual credits for FREE

All Grade 11 & 12 students have the opportunity to study at Vancouver Island University (VIU) for FREE. Students interested in early childhood education can earn dual credits from the Career Technical Centre and VIU.

Seismic Upgrades Complete at Cilaire Elementary

Not only did Cilaire Elementary receive seismic upgrades, they also have inclusive washrooms, upgraded Wi-fi and a new elevator.
