The Viking View The NJH PTO Newsletter - Week of April 10

north junior high pto works to:

Support Students | Appreciate Educators | Create Community | Sponsor Fun

The Big Give was an ambitious campaign, and it absolutely would not have succeeded without the generosity and support of our donors. Together, we raised $17,125 (exceeding our initial $15,000 goal!) and engaged nearly 200 families. We came together as a community to support our students, educators and families. The feedback on this format was extremely positive – people loved a simple, straightforward fundraiser with little overhead costs or personal time commitment. The Big Give was 100% volunteer-organized, and every dollar raised will go towards funding activities for North students, educators and families. Watch for The Big Give every February, and please consider continuing your support in future years.

Here's a chart showing how we're planning to allocate and spend the money:

There's just one thing left to do to wrap up the big give. the assembly has been postponed until after spring break, but We'll share all the messy photos here!

April Staff Appreciation lunch

Can you whip up some chili, corn bread or chop veggies? We need your help! Our last parent-provided lunch of the year is Wednesday, April 12th & we have a few spots left. Join us in treating our teachers to a warm and much deserved meal.

PTO events

  • Thanks to those who attended our March PTO meeting. Our next PTO meeting is Monday, April 10, at 6pm in the North Cafeteria.
  • The April staff appreciation lunch is coming up on Wednesday, April 12. We'll be serving a baked potato bar. Sign up here to help.

  • We're trying to improve our communication with North families. If you wouldn't mind taking a minute to complete this form so we can add your student's graduation year to our spreadsheet, this will be a big help for Team Days and Freshman Farewell as well as helping us keep our email list updated. *You will not be added to the email list twice!*
  • Spring is the perfect time to learn more about joining the PTO Board and/or PTO Committees next year! Please email Ellen or Julie to find out more, and we would also encourage you to attend the April 10 meeting. There are roles to fit many different levels of commitment, no experience necessary. We would love to get a mix of 7/8/9th grade families to help. Come join us!
