Dear Phoenix Club Member,

My name is Parker Haskin, and I am a senior catcher on the Elon Baseball Team. I am writing this letter to share how grateful I am for your generosity towards Elon Athletics and show how your generosity has positively impacted my experience here as a student-athlete.

When I came to Elon as a transfer student my sophomore year, I didn’t know what to expect. It was during COVID, and I was unsure of what I wanted to study, how I would get along with my new teammates, or how my experience would be socially. Three years later, the worry I was feeling has turned into a sense of pride for all I have accomplished in my time here. I have been able to study something that I am passionate about, and last semester finished with the highest GPA of my college career. I have competed at a high level on the baseball field and have been voted a two-time team captain by my teammates. I have gained valuable work experience at the Phoenix Club as an intern helping the athletic department put on some of the school’s biggest fundraising events. Most importantly, I have made lifelong friendships with my teammates and peers, who like myself hope to represent the school well post-graduation.

So, thank you again for not only what you have done for me, but also for all the student-athletes at Elon. As a recipient of an athletic scholarship, your support has given me one of the greatest gifts, a degree from one of the most well-respected schools in the country, and memories from the field and classroom that will stay with me the rest of my life. Your generosity means more than you know!
