Survival 2022 California Cadet COrps

Survival training in the CACC is foundational to leadership development. It teaches self-reliance, critical thinking, self-confidence, resilience, character development, grit, smart risk-taking, value of preparation, and techniques to deal with stress and failure. It also increases odds of survival in adverse situations, develops an appreciation and respect for the outdoors, and creates strong bonds between the participants.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The Survival Training Unit and the Advanced Survival Training Unit will conduct their next Field Training Exercise (FTX) on 17-23 July 2022 at Camp San Luis Obispo.

Registration deadline is 30 April 2022

"The farther one gets into the wilderness, the greater is the attraction of its lonely freedom." - Theodore Roosevelt

This is a mentally and physically challenging course requiring cadets to maintain a high level of motivation and perseverance.

Cadets learn survival skills while operating in a unique, 120+ hour scenario-based field exercise.

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." - Albert Einstein

Cadets must be entering 10th-12th grade for the 2022-2023 school year.

In order to be accepted, cadets must complete physical, mental, and medical prerequisites.

Cadets who do not complete the entirety of the course or meet benchmark standards as evaluated by course cadre will not receive the coveted Red Beret.

If you believe you have what it takes to earn your Red Beret and join the ranks of cadets who proudly wear it, sign-up today.

"The best way out is always through." - Robert Frost
