TORNADO MEN'S SOCCER 2022 SEASON PREVIEW

The King University men's soccer team enters the 2022 season with a new leader as Mark Bell was announced as the head coach last spring. Bell will rely on a solid group of returners while welcoming a talented group of newcomers.

2021 Season Highlights

  • King got off to a hot start, defeating Concord University in the season opener
  • The Tornado then played to a draw with Mars Hill University before topping Emory & Henry College

RUBEN LAUREANO

  • King's leading returning scorer from 2021
  • Led the Tornado with three goals in 2020
  • Accounted for four career goals and one assist for nine points
  • Has started 16 games in 33 career appearances
  • Made five starts in 13 games in 2021

COLLIN PARSONS

  • Has appeared in eight career games
  • Made six appearances in 2021
  • Accounted for 25 career saves and 2.70 goals against average

BEN DALGLISH

  • Started 12 of his 13 appearances during his rookie campaign
  • Helped the Tornado defense to a pair of shutout wins

WESON JOYNER

HEAD COACH

Mark Bell

Entering his first year, Bell joined the Tornado staff this spring and brings 25 years as a collegiate head coach with him. Most recently, Bell guided Eastern Nazarene to their first ever New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) regular season title in 2021. That success came on the heels of the 2019 season, when Bell led the Lions to a 16-4 record and an NECC postseason championship. He earned NECC Coach of the Year honors following the 2019 season, which also included the program’s first-ever berth in the NCAA Division III National Championship.
