hospitality
For the third Grand Slam hospitality of the season, we aimed to remind our athletes of what made them fall in love with the game of tennis. To do so we once again provided a home away from home for the athletes and their teams off the court – an outlet for fun and positivity. The Good Vibes Only Sports Club was the embodiment of this mindset within the context of Wimbledon 2023.
Hospitality was broken up into three areas of focus. One space was focused on receiving product and having catch ups with the sports marketing reps. Athletes received their Wimbledon product and shoes in a custom bag created just for Wimbledon. This space also featured a Segafredo Serve & Sip coffee bar where athletes could choose from hot coffee, iced coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to fuel their visit.
Athletes were also invited to work with DJ Glade Marie and DJ L'atisse to create a custom mix of two of their favorite artists or songs. The result was a playlist curated by Nike athletes to provide Good Vibes for Wimbledon and the year to come. They were also photographed for their album covers which were then uploaded to Soundcloud and able to be shared on their social media accounts.
Finally, we built garden games to take advantage of the outdoor space at the house. Athletes could test their hand at the Good Vibes Only putting challenge as well as other lawn games like croquet. We also featured light bites from Chef Lauryn Therin.
the WIMBLEDON COLLECTION
The 2023 Wimbledon Collection featured sustainable materials as well as textures across the styles offered. The female athletes were also able to wear dark green colored ball shorts should they choose for maximum comfort and minimal distractions while playing.
CARLOS ALCARAZ
The Alcaraz Era is upon us as World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz captured his first Wimbledon and second Grand Slam victory on Sunday. He defeated Djokovic in an epic 5 set match, which included a 27 minute game in the 3rd set. "It is a dream come true for me. Even if I lost, I would have been proud of myself. To be able to play in these stages of these occasions - as a boy of 20 years old - is really fast," Carlos said after the win.
Madison Keys
Madison is back playing at her highest level. After winning the Eastbourne title, Madison made it to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon before falling to Sabalenka. "I'm really just trying to keep it a lot more simple and just play the smart shots over and over and over again and if I’m able to do that pretty consistently, a lot of times I’m able to get the win," Madison said.
Mirra andreeva
The 16 year old continues to impress as she makes waves on the WTA tour. Mirra became the youngest player to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon since Coco Gauff did it in 2019. This is only Mirra's second Grand Slam at a pro level. She is now ranked a career high 64.
“I just try to play every point. Doesn’t matter against who. Doesn’t matter which round. I just play my game. I don’t change anything mental-wise, tennis-wise. So, yeah, I’m just playing.”
Clervie Ngounoue
Clervie won her first singles Grand Slam title at Wimbledon. She has previously won doubles at the 2022 Australian Open and in May at Roland Garros. Clervie did not drop a set in her run to the title.
