Galentines Day Waffles Story and all photos by Kiswa Khan '23

For Galentine's day, I hosted a waffle brunch with pink waffles. The recipe is easy to follow, takes only 10 minutes and yields 6 waffles. Having a waffle brunch is a great way to spend time with your friends and I highly recommend it.

Prep time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

1 3/4 cup flour

4 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp sugar

3 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

Pinch of nutmeg

Pinch of cinnamon

1 3/4 cup milk

1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

Pink food coloring

Whipped cream, optional (topping)

Fruit, optional (topping)

Sprinkles, optional (topping)

Mix together dry ingredients (left) flour, cornstarch, cinnamon, sugar, salt and nutmeg. In another bowl mix together wet ingredients eggs, milk and oil (right).
Mix together the wet and dry ingredients and then add as many drops of food coloring that will get you your desired color.
Place the batter in a waffle maker and then top with the desired toppings. I used pink whipping cream, blueberries, strawberries and heart shaped sprinkles.
