Newsletter 27th November 2020

This week has show how amazing our school community is. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone for the kind donations as we get ready for 'Operation Christmas' at Galley Hill this year. This week also saw the 'Launch' of the new school logo, showing off the best of the local community. As well as your kind generosity and the new logo launch, there has also been some amazing work and team work by the children. Remember, if you are self-isolating at home, work will be set on Teams, with the lessons for Maths and English being accessible live as they are taught.

School life

This week the Reception children have been drawing and describing their own Gruffalos. The children have been sequencing the events in their day and developing their use of time related vocabulary. We also have a new spy area following the unexplained disappearance of toys from the Nursery. The children have been reading clues and building traps to try and catch the culprit.

Y1 have been creating their own fact files based around their favourite animals. Amazing work!

Year 5 and Year 6 took part in the school games with the Sports Partnership this week. Year 6 pupils led the sessions after receiving the training on the morning to be sports leaders. Great sportsmanship show from all the children. The sports leaders will be used throughout the year to help facilitate sporting events and model all sporting values.

This week, Year 4 have produced a double page spread of their non-chronological report about a chosen animal

You have probably started to see scripts and Christmas songs being sung at home. We have started rehearsals in school this week for the whole School Nativity. Here is a snapshot of Year 6 in action.
