Pre -game pep

On Sept. 30, Loy Norrix began their homecoming fun with the first full pep assembly in 3 years. Held in the gym, students gathered to watch performances, starting with the band and the Norrix Cheer Team.

Next came a performance from the Advanced Dance class at Norrix. Featured dancers left to right are sophomore Brynn Dugger, freshmen Alyvia Walker, Zekarii Cobbs, Teagan McCormick, and sophomore Nevaeh Burrel.

Carlton Freeman leads the senior tug of war team against the freshman. The seniors easily won within seconds.

Sophomores pull their hearts out competing against the juniors in tug of war. With a very evenly matched war, the juniors came out with the win.

Students scream from the bleachers as they compete for the loudest class. Student features from top left to bottom right are senior Wendy Miedema, Gaberiel Lubbers, Gracie Goschke, Nina Molitor, Aden Dewees, junior Malik Guy and junior Cedric Huntley.

Wrapping things up for the pep assembly, the LatinX/Hispanic Student Association partnered up with Spanish students and performed the Caballo Dorado dance. This was perfectly timed to go along with Norrix’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

School Spirit and Support

Loy Norrix student athletes gathered at Millwood Elementary and showed their school spirit in a police escorted parade down Lovers Lane and then around the Loy Norrix track. While the varsity football team began their warmups for the homecoming game, members from the women's swim and dive, men’s soccer, cross country, sideline cheer, and varsity volleyball teams showed their support and school spirit with the band leading.

The Loy Norrix student section showing their support for the Knights on the field repping a fun frat theme. With mixed emotions, the Knights didn’t know what to expect from the Norrix football team once the second half of the game started.

During halftime, homecoming court members gathered at midfield to receive their awards in front of fans, parents and students. Senior winners pictured at the top were Mataya Williams, Sharyha Webster, Zach Lacey, Jiselle Anderson, Percy Gordon and Coriona White.

The Knights take the field, ready for battle after a halftime pep talk. With determination in their eyes, they were ready to take the field and prove themselves for Norrix.

After a hard fight, the Knights lose to Dowagiac. Both teams scored touchdowns, but Norrix fell short due to an incomplete two point conversion.
