53rd FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATION

VIRTUAL ANNUAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION

This year, the annual science exhibition was held virtually, as a week-long celebration of innovation and technology from 31 July 2020 to 6 August 2020. The objective was to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mind - set, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing, rapid calculations, measurements etc. Students had made still models, working models, PPT videos and posters to present their innovative ideas.

Continuing the legacy, on 7 August 2020, the school celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day by coming live on different online platforms such as Facebook and YouTube with great pomp and show. The school Principal announced the results of Science Exhibition towards the end of the programme. It was a sight of great zeal and enthusiasm for students, parents as well as teachers.

Our young minds have truly proved with their stupendous results that, it is the ability to persist in something you feel passionate about. This kind of passion is about having direction and commitment to oneself. Our students of class X and XII have set an example of “dream big and strive to fulfil that”. They have truly shown, when you are passionate about your dreams, you stay committed and focussed to them.

Our 12thies and 10thies have exhibited exceptional performance in the CBSE Examinations for the session 2019-2020. Our toppers from class XII are, Diksha Kushwaha from Humanities and Sanyam Jain from Commerce both have secured 97.2%. Second position holders are, Shailja Singh and Tanya Schdeva with 96.4% both are from Humanities. Third position is secured by Kirti Bhagya and Cherish Sachdeva with 96.2%.

Shreya Sahgal with 98%, Tanmay Bansal with 97.8% and Soumyashree Biswal with 97.2%. All these witty minds have shown, “if you are determined to go beyond the limits, success will certainly follow you”. The stupendous result reflects the perseverance, tenacity and hard work of the students, parents and the faculty under the guidance and leadership of our school Principal, Mr. Vividh Gupta.

Safety Starts with awareness.... Awareness starts with you......

Road Safety has acquired a prime place and importance in terms of the present scenario where we can’t afford to lose a life due to negligence, realizing the need of preventing the same by shaping concerned future citizens, primary class students were sensitized about road safety in morning assembly, they also experienced road safety drill at home and enjoyed a lot. Apart from that to talk about road safety etiquettes a workshop for students of classes VII was organized wherein Mr. Sachin Yadav Sub-Inspector, Delhi Traffic Police briefed students about various traffic rules that ought to be followed in order to maintain safety on roads. These activities were a huge success as it helped in awakening in the young minds a spirit of citizenship!

VAN MAHOTSAVA

“Save the tree, Save the Earth. We are the guardians of nature’s birth.”

In an earnest attempt to lead a green touch to the environment and sensitizing the students about their role in conserving the plants, Van Mahotsav Week was celebrated virtually that raised an enthusiasm among the tiny tots of pre-primary to class V who were involved in planting saplings, celebrating green day by wearing green attire, and unleashing their creativity on a piece of paper by sketching and pasting useful material they get from plants. Little wonders also sensitized everyone in the morning assembly by presenting an act on various themes of Van Mahotsav. The event helped to bring awareness about the green cover around us and in strengthening the bond between nature and humans.

ONLINE ETHICS AND SAFETY ETIQUETTE

School assemblies serve as powerful motivators so to equip younger students with the skills and knowledge necessary to use the internet safely, Class IV-D conducted morning assembly on the theme ‘Cyber Safety’. They made everyone aware about basic net etiquette especially in this pandemic when classes are virtually equipped. Thereafter students shared their experiences of virtual studies at the end a beautiful dance performance proved that assemblies are the best way of sensitising young minds.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

One of the basic aims of teaching is to nurture in students a sound mind and a strong value-driven character as the education given to the students should promote self-thinking and creativity. Therefore, Virtual classes are planned in such a manner that help our students in gaining interest by performing real-life based experience. They were given experimental work like Rainbow Activity, Water walking, and Seed germination activity. Children enjoyed a lot and at the same time they learnt various science facts.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS

Keeping the spirit of patriotism alive and to remember the valuable contributions and sacrifices made by our soldiers, Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated in the morning assembly on 24th July 2020. Class V students presented a wonderful sequence of the event in the form of thoughts, important facts; dance performance highlighted the passion and love for the soldiers and motherland. The assembly concluded with a poem on Kargil martyrs. The day filled everyone’s heart with patriotic fervour and pride.

RAKSHABANDHAN

“Priceless thread, Rakhi is the epitome of love between brother and sister”

To ensure the safety and sustainability this festival carried more importance this year as all the sisters tied beautiful self-made rakhis on their brother’s wrist and shared their precious moments. Students also celebrated this festival in the morning assembly and sensitised everyone that Raksha Bandhan not only celebrates the love and bond between brothers and sisters but also underlines the notion for everyone to live in harmony and hence speaks about the rich culture and traditions of India that make our nation extraordinary.

INTERHOUSE COMPETITIONS

HINDI POEM RECITATION COMPETITION BY JAGRITI HOUSE

An Inter-House Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition was organized on 4 July, 2020 for the classes VI-VIII. The competition was an open ended in terms of the selection of the poems. All the students had participated enthusiastically and recited poem on their favourite topic.

Participants from all the four houses got a golden opportunity to showcase their poetry recitation skills virtually. As beauty is the realm of poetry; children enjoyed the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words.

ENGLISH DECLAMATION COMPETITION BY JAGRITI HOUSE

“The quickest way to acquire self-confidence is to do exactly what you are afraid to do.”

Jagriti house organized an Inter-house Declamation Competition on 11 July, 2020, to hone the oratory skills among the students. The participants participated with grit upto the level that the bar rose extremely high for the competition, wherein, each participant could feel their pulse roaring as everyone was well prepared, spoke confidently with expressions and excellent diction..

Our Director and Principal of the school appreciated all the young and inquisitive minds for having participated with zeal in order to uplift the morale of the young orators.

SCIENCE DIY EXHIBIT COMPETITION "EXPLORING THE YOUNG INTELLECT" BY NIRMAN HOUSE

On 18 July 2020, an Inter house Science DIY Exhibit Competition titled "Chhote dimag ki badi khurafat: Exploring the young intellect" was held that served as an ideal platform for facilitating an exchange of ideas among the student fraternity.

The dynamic participants mesmerized the audience with their vibrant scientific aptitude. They were made to present their ideas with help of self made machines and model exhibits within the given time limit.

SINGING COMPETITION "SUR SE TAAL TAK" BY NIRMAN HOUSE

“Because nothing can stop us and our competitive spirit!”

An Inter-House Singing competition was held on 25 July, 2020 for the students of classes IX to XII wherein students sung beautiful patriotic songs of their choice virtually. Some of the songs were the highlight of the day, on Patriotism and Valour. Students were well prepared and participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. Their efforts were appreciated by all.
