With a student-athlete population of almost 30% Tartans identifying as ADPI, we bring diversity and change to athletics. Carnegie Mellon is a prestigious university where we value individual well-being and community support, and it’s important for all of our student-athletes to feel welcomed and supported by the environment that we create. To provide a safe space for Asians, Desis, and Pacific Islanders, we can come together to support each other’s cultures, improve the issues we face in competition, and celebrate who we are. 2

As a college student who is constantly developing and learning new things, I think it's important to always gain new perspectives, talk to as many people as possible and be cognizant of what is going on in the world. I think the mentoring program really fills this need for highly motivated college student-athletes as they are trying to figure out what they want to do post-graduation. - Aadi Mhatre, MXC 2019, Engineering
Studying abroad really changed my perspective. Being a part of a new culture and meeting new people was amazing and seeing places I would never get to visit normally was so worthwhile. - Sam Glowasky, WBB 2024, Engineering
Participating in the Washington Semester Program as a student-athete was one of the best decisions I could have made. It pushed me to have self-accountability with training to be best prepared for the coming season while also giving me the flexibility to connect with peers outside of my athletic circle. WSP gave me the chance to become a more well-rounded person, form new connections, and find my identity beyond the softball field. - Audrey Pederson, Softball 2022, International Relations
