Extraordinary stories of the lives and work of some incredible Indian women

In March 2023, UNDP India launched the second edition of our flagship magazine - Inspiring India, featuring stories of inspirational women leaders and changemakers shattering stereotypes and advocating for equal rights for women.

The curated launch event was attended by a number of prominent individuals, including from the office of the President of India, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Embassies of Switzerland and Denmark, members of the civil society, the private sector, content creators, young people and media. UNDP India's youth climate champion Prajakta Koli and UNDP India's SDG Advocate Bhumi Pednekar also joined the launch at Bikaner House in New Delhi.

The magazine - a tribute to the indomitable spirit of Indian women - includes a foreword from the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

It also features several prominent people, including Indian billionaire businesswomen and founders of Nykaa, Falguni and Adwaita Nayar; para-badminton national champion, Manasi Joshi; Sunil Chhetri, captain of the Indian football team; Ecofeminist and Padma Shri Awardee, Jamuna Tudu and UNDP India Youth Climate Champion and actor, Prajakta Koli and UNDP India National Advocate for the SDGs and actor, Bhumi Pednekar.

Watch Bhumi Pednekar in an Inspiring India exclusive conversation with UNDP India Resident Representative, Shoko Noda. The actor was recently appointed UNDP India National Advocate for the SDGs.

Subconsciously we as women are always fighting for equality. The idea is to create an equal world for all having equal rights and opportunities, says Pednekar.
