Wednesday and Friday mornings are busy as volunteers pack and distribute food to between 100 and 200 residents per day.
Most of the food distributed by the pantry comes from the Greater Boston Food Bank, which provides around 20'000lbs of food per week.
"Most of our volunteers are regulars so they know what to do, which is great," said Arielle Chernin, Operations Manager at the Food Pantry.
Food packages are also delivered to residents that are homebound or cannot make the commute to the pantry.
Brookline Thrives volunteers get together on Wednesday mornings to pack up healthy meal packages for children to have on weekends and during school breaks.
"The mission of Thrives is to ensure that all kids return back to school on Monday mornings with full bellies," said Sharon Brockmann, Project Manager at Brookline Thrives.
