UNDP Maldives Q1 Newsletter 2023

Hello from the Maldives

45 years in the Maldives, with the Maldives!

"There is infinite potential in the Maldives. A vast oceanic state with the seventh-largest coral reef system in the world, we are a holder of global natural assets. The future of the planet depends, to a large extent, on the future of SIDS such as this island nation.
With sustainability at the heart of everything UNDP does in the Maldives, we are seeking more diversity, equity and inclusion in our offer of support to the Maldives. This year, we are going all-in on biodiversity, coral and ocean-positive solutions, cutting emissions, gender equality, youth empowerment, access to justice and opportunity for all, and driving social impact through entrepreneurship that generate positive, measurable impacts on the environment, people, and the economy.”

- Enrico Gaveglia, UNDP Resident Representative in the Maldives
