Gang rivalry Oklahoma 1960's

A bad rivalry has been going on between two gangs in Oklahoma in the 1960's.

It seems as if no matter what's going on they have to say something or start something with each other

The two gangs in Oklahoma are the Greasers and the Socs.
The rivalry has gone to far now and they won't stop till the end.
The Greasers are poor, trouble making kids who have big beef against the rich Socs
The Greasers usually don't expect much in life and don't have as good as perks as the Socs.
The Socs on the other hand are spoiled brats who get whatever they want and hate Greasers.

In the book The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton the two groups Socs and Greasers are rivals against each other in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 1960s. The rivalry started out small, but as the book progresses the violence becomes more serious.

The theme of this slate is about Gang rivalry and how it is shown in The Outsiders. The theme relates to the book because the book is about two gangs who can't stand each other.

Am example from the book is'' Tim Shepard's gang and our outfit are havin' it out with the Socs tomorrow night at the vacant lot''. The gangs are planning on having a huge rumble.

Another example from the book is'' I'm sick of all this. Sick and tired. Bob was a good guy. He was the best buddy a guy ever had. I mean, he was a good fighter and tuff and everything, but he was a real person too. You dig?'' After this Ponyboy starts to think that not all Socs are bad as the book progresses.
