**NOTHING HERE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED INVESTMENT ADVICE!!**

Good morning to all my wingmen and wing-women out there. Here are a few noteworthy and tasty bites worth digesting. Enjoy!

Late last week, the most recognized body builder of all time had a message, and plea, to the Russian people. Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted this video aimed directly at the Russian people and Vladimir Putin himself.

Doing his part to pump up awareness of what’s really happening in Ukraine right now. And how Russian media is being censored to keep citizens from knowing the true realities unfolding. We’ve seen example after example of people trying to stand up and speak out….with the next scene typically showing these people being arrested, beaten and sent to jail.

A couple recent examples being….

• The journalist who protested during a live news broadcast was arrested and found guilty of an “unauthorized public event” and being a “hooligan”……..come again?
• This lady who opposed the Russian led war, was arrested IMMEDIATELY (literally, within seconds!) after holding up a note card that read “two words”. The second lady was on the verge of supporting the Russian led war before she got swept up also.

I guess the message from Putin’s administration is don’t speak out against us or speak up for us. They prefer to do all the narrating themselves.

March Madness update and worthwhile mentions from Round 2 this past weekend.

The #8 North Carolina Tarheels were up 25 points against the #1 Baylor Bears with 12 minutes left in the 2nd half….a couple flagrant fouls, ejections and missed shots later and Baylor had tied the game and stolen the momentum forcing overtime. In that moment, 95 cents of every dollar being wagered was placed on the Baylor Bears to win the game in overtime. So, what happened?

Against, all odds (and monies) the Tarheels kept it together and figured out a way to knock out the defending champion Baylor Bears.

Three key lessons we can all take away from the UNC vs Baylor game:

1. It’s not how you start; it’s how you finish. (Both teams showed this on Saturday)
2. Stay calm and collected, don’t allow your emotions to get the best of you. (Point Tarheels)
3. Look forward and focus on what needs to be done…. not the mistakes made in the past. (Point Tarheels)

I would be infuriated if I was an AMC shareholder! Most people have heard of “Captain Obvious”…..when someone states something so……obvious. But what is it called when someone says/does something so random? Captain random? Captain come-again? Captain WTF did you just do?

Yeah, I think the latter is most appropriate for what to call Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Entertainment. Last week, the movie company surprised everyone by purchasing a 22% stake in Hycroft Mining Holding Corp……a gold and silver mine in Northern Nevada, naturally. Why wouldn’t a movie theater make that type of purchase/investment? No one can seem to figure that out. But you may be wondering how a movie theatre company, who hasn’t recovered from the pandemic, pulls together enough money to make such an [odd] investment?

AMC stock went from an all-time low of $1.91 to an all-time high of $72.62 and is one of the first meme stocks that took off during the pandemic (thanks to Wallstreetbets and all of their followers) and generated significant value during the it’s rise…..building close to a $2 billion cash war chest.

AMC CEO stated…..“to state the obvious, one would not normally think that a movie theatre company’s core competency includes gold or silver mining.” (…..ok, maybe he is more of a Captain Obvious type of guy.)

Will this bet prove to be a smart move? Or will it be just as perplexing then, as it is now? Without risking sounding like Captain Obvious myself….I suppose time will tell.
