Bryant Cross Country/Track and Field 2020 and Beyond

Junior Sarah Freeman earned All-NEC honors during the cross country season, finishing in the Top 14 at the conference championship meet.

During the 2020 indoor season, the Bulldogs set eight new school records and six qualifying marks for the ECAC/IC4A Championship.

Current senior Shileigh Martinez earned the first medal in school history for women's pole vault at the 2020 Indoor Championship. Martinez tied for third by clearing a height of 3.35m.

Senior Jason Dolan, earned a bronze medal in the 800m at the 2020 NEC Indoor Championship with a time of 1:53.88. Dolan also earned All-East honors at the IC4A Championship in the 1000m.

Junior Emma Garrity earned All-Rookie honors at the 2020 Indoor Championship in the 500m. Garrity broke Bryant's school record with a time of 1:16.71.

Senior Nicole Xiarhos earned All-New England honors in the 200 meters last season and also was part of the 4x100 relay team that broke the school record.

At the 2021 NEC Outdoor Championships, both men's and women's teams earned their best ever finish and highest point totals (5th/7th)

The two teams combined for seven All-NEC performers and three All-Rookie performers at the championship meet.

Jasmine Hope won gold in the long jump at the 2021 NEC Outdoor Championships with a distance of 6.01 meters

Jason Dolan won gold in the 1500 at the 2021 NEC Outdoor Championships. He also qualified for the NCAA Championships, in the 800, becoming the first Bryant athlete to compete at the NCAA's.

The Bulldogs had five All-New England performers during the 2021 season, and their 12th place finish at the ECAC/I4CA meet was their highest ever.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Three men and five women on the cross country team were named to the 2019 Northeast Conference Fall Commissioner's Honer Roll for earning a cumulative GPA of a 3.75 or higher.

12 men and nine women earned a cumulative GPA of a 3.20 or higher and placed on the 2019 Northeast Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Three men and 10 women earned 2020 NEC Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll. 26 men and 27 women earned a spot on the NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2020.

As an athletic department, the Bulldogs had a record 174 student-athletes on the Spring Honor Roll for the 2020 spring semester.

The Academic Innovation Center (AIC) opened in 2016. The 48,000-square foot facility breakout spaces that inspire design thinking and creative problem solving; tiered classrooms that encourage debate and build critical thinking and communication skills; flat classrooms that support flexible teaching styles and encourage collaboration; ant the Innovation Forum, a space where furnishings and whiteboards can be reconfigured to support various group learning activities.

FACILITIES

The Track and Turf Complex was renovated in 2015 and is home to our Track & Field program. Since the renovation, the Bulldogs host their annual Black and Gold Invitational at the beginning of every outdoor season.

The Bulldog Strength & Conditioning Center - a 10,000-square foot facility that opened in 2015 - Gives Bryant student-athletes an edge in the weight room and on the course/track.

The 4,800-square foot Athletic Training Room, completed in July 2016, offers state-of-the-art facilities for Bryant student-athletes.

The Conaty Indoor Athletic Center is an 80,000-square foot state-of-the-art turf field with 120 yards of turf. The XCTF team uses this space by setting up a 250-meter track on the turf. The team also sets up three different throwing circles, a raised runway for pole vault, long jump, and triple jump, as well as a track surface take off for high jump.
