Lone Mountain Families,
As we wrap up this school year, I wanted to say thank you for a wonderful year. I feel blessed to be a part of this campus where great things are happening every single day. Each and every one of you is unique and together you make Lone Mountain a very special school. I wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to having you and your child back at school on August 1st.
Respectfully, Emily Hill
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR LONE MOUNTAIN EVENTS
EVERYBODY DAY CELEBRATION
Our first ever Everybody Day was a huge success! Everybody Day was designed to celebrate the unique strengths of everyone, and to specifically focus on the unique gifts our students with disabilities bring to our community. The day is designed to educate and engage our entire school community in shared experiences that recognize what it may be like to live as a student with autism, language delays, sensory processing disorders, or other disabilities that affect our classrooms. Thank you to all of our volunteers, families, and students for making this day successful.
AMERICAN SYMBOLS SHOW-2ND GRADE
Our second graders took the audience on a review of American Symbols through song and dialogue in a fantastic performance last week. Thank you to our second grade students and teachers for inviting the Foothills Caring Corps to attend the performance. We love when we can partner with our community and showcase the great things we are doing in our schools.
POETRY READING-1ST GRADE
Our first graders have been learning about the different types of poems and writing them as well. Last week each first grader recited an original poem to an audience of family and friends. Way to go first grade!
READING ROCKS- 3RD GRADE
Last week our third graders shared some of their favorite books from this year with their families and classmates. It was wonderful to see students excited about reading and being able to explain the key details, characters, themes, and plots of the books that they read. Way to SOAR third graders!
6th GRADE DANCE AT SONORAN TRAILS MIDDLE SCHOOL
Our sixth graders represented our school well last Friday night at the Sonoran Trails 6th grade dance. A good time was had by all and a huge thank you to Mr. Rinderknecht and Mrs. Lutz for chaperoning this memorable event. All students that attended received a lawn sign as they left to help celebrate that next year they will be a Sonoran Trails Stinger. If your child was unable to attend and you would like a yard sign please stop by the Sonoran Trails Front Office to get one.
THANK YOU GABRIEL'S ANGELS
A huge thank you to our reading therapy dogs and their handlers from Gabriel's Angels. As we closed out our last reading session with our therapy dogs the students were able to take home photos of the dogs that they read with this year. Thank you to Thurston, Sophie, and Carmel for being our LMES reading dogs. We can't wait to start reading with you again!
EAGLE AWARD WINNERS
This year we are celebrating students who demonstrate our SOAR ( safety, open-mindedness, A+ attitude, respect) expectations around campus. Staff are able to nominate students weekly who exemplify strong character and academic excellence. Students who are nominated will receive a certificate honoring this accomplishment as well as a prize. Congratulations to the winners from last week who received a gift certificate from Cherry on Top. Join me in congratulating Elinor, Dominic, Kennedy, Lilly, Kinsley, and Attley. Way to go Eagles!
