African or American - this game show students a picture or statistic/fact, and they must go to the corresponding side of the room that represents Africa, or America to vote. Black or Cap - Students are given a series of statements related to history and pop culture, and they have to decide whether or not the statement is true (Black) or false (cap). Say What? - Students wear noise cancelling headphones and have to read their team members lips to be guided across an obstacle course towards “success”.

TECHNOLOGY
Cameras Converting Communities - Students will learn how to use cameras & digital media to change their communities for the better. (instavideos, skits, and PSAs)
Challenge The Culture - Students analyze the trends on social media, and start their own challenge/hashtags to motivate and inspire their peers.

Crowncast - Students will write and record a 10-20 minute podcast to exercise their voice and remind the world of their royalty.
Habari Gani (What’s The News) - Students research and summarize news articles, outline the information for the anchors, and present/film their findings.
Kidmercials - Students will discuss marketing trends, and create commercials for resources/programs/events in their school.
Memes, Myself, and I - Students discuss the history of popular memes, and learn to create their own to tell their story.
Notemojis - Students look up definitions from word banks (given to us by the school, or from PDE), then they have to find emoji’s to explain the definition.
Scavenger Hunt - At the beginning of the session, students will use their cell phones or chromebooks to look up the answers to five questions that strategically tie into the lesson for that day.
Royal See, Royal Do - students will create “how to videos” to explain the things they know how to do in order to help others be just as royal as they are.
LITERATURE
Iron Sharpens Iron - Students will work with a partner to learn definitions of new words and quiz each other using their learning styles. Then each pair will compete against other groups for prizes.
Jus Words - A poetry writing workshop on topics that matter to the students and also covers spoken word techniques.
Lit is LIT! - A way for students to identify their favorite song lyrics and compare it to their common core ELA materials.
Lyrical Exercise - Students find the lyrics of their favorite song. They define seven slang words, and seven words with three syllables or more. Then, summarize each verse, chorus, and the song as a whole.
Read, Rhythm, & Text - Students will read a selected text out loud, as if they were performing in front of a large crowd, equipped with a “DJ and Break Dancers” (who visually show the text).
Rhyme Race - Teams will create rhymes off of the top of their heads that discuss vocabulary and content from class. They will rhyme race (quickly walk and freestyle) from one side of the room to the other to tag in their teammate.
Rhyme Time - Students will be given vocabulary words they need to rhyme to in order to tell a story over a beat.
Rhythm & Sync - Students will watch current music videos, then discuss the lyrics and messaging.
Royal Relays - Students team up to define “words of the week”, or fill in the blank (using a word bank). They can assist each other each step of the way.
Word on the Street - Students go to the closest (safe) intersection to read and write what they see through a literary lens.
Word to Brother Levi - Have students memorize their vocabulary words, parts of speech, and study guides to cadences of their favorite beats.
MATH
#NotAStatistic - Students will research statistics on their generation, race, gender, etc and discuss ways to prevent becoming “a statistic”.
Battleship - Students play Battleship using four boards to learn how to plot coordinates on a coordinate plane.
Bustlenomics - “Business of Hustling and Economics” Students will learn key economic vocabulary words, and learn how they can start funding their dreams today.
Catch the Plot - Students learn how to plot coordinates by running football routes against defenders. They are then challenged to find the slope of each route.
Dice Game - Students must add, subtract, multiply, or divide the numbers on the dice after they each roll them. Whoever gets the most correct win a prize. Whoever gets the least correct must freestyle a rap/poem.
Math Minutes - Students complete two math minutes a session to track their progress. Their only goal is to do better than they did the last time.
My Life Is A Project - Students explore their career choices and how they will have to earn their living. They will be tasked with paying bills and shopping for necessities.
Rap Math - Students count off and substitute multiples of 4 with “rap”, and multiples of 7 with “math”. The goal is to get to 100 without error.
Royal Relays - Students team up to complete a series of math problems on the board. They can assist each other each step of the way.
Toothpaste & Toilet Paper - Teaching students how low cost household items add up as they discover the importance of contributing to their home.
BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Avoiding the Burn - This workshop creates a safe space for educators to discuss the factors that lead to burnout. We discuss the importance of self care and review some techniques they can apply in their daily lives.
Kidnections - This workshop helps adults make stronger connections with the youth they serve through interactive discussions and games.
Phamily Matters - This workshop series connects the families of the students we serve to each other, our school partners, and to resources that assist them in better supporting our students.
Brotherhood & Breakfast - This workshop series connects the young men in schools we serve to their fathers and male mentors from the community, in a safe space to break bread while breaking up trauma, masculine stereotypes, and self hate. It also provides a forum to build the young men into responsible role models for the next generation.
Reach One, Teach One- This workshop series creates innovative ways to manifest more parent engagement. Parents are asked to sponsor classrooms and then rotate each month. Sponsorship can include, but not limited to: Classroom support, an activity based on their career, or reading circles. The goal is to have children see their parents invested in their education, so they yearn to learn more.
Detention, Suspension, Retention, Oh My! This workshop series provides social and emotional learning and life skills training during detention and suspension sessions. It serves as a positive redirection class instead of the negative connotation placed upon these consequences.
SOUL (Sound Of Upcoming Legends) School - We offer site wide artist showcases that feature our edutainers, and can include student performers as well.
Under The Cuts - a group of men, a barber, and a therapist discussing the cuts under their fades and how to heal them.
We serve during the day, after school, weekends, and offer an intentional alternative to detention and suspension.
THE INTENTIONAL INVESTMENT:
1 Edutainer (less than 16 learners): $60/hour during the school day, $75/hour after school, $100/hour on weekends
2 Edutainers (16-30 learners): $100/hour during the school day, $140/hour after school, $200/hour on weekends
