Eric the Half a Blog… Week 5

Due to various illnesses, we didn’t get the chance this week to get our history in and missed a PE session too. These things happen. In computing, we introduced the children to Scratch as the next logical step in their programming sequences of events while in maths, we started moving on to addition and subtraction.

We’ll start with some science. We tried collecting some data about muscles and then comparing that to the amount of exercise over a week. We talked about our predictions and attempted a tricky graph to see if e could prove or disprove them…
We ride to make our cave art a bit more “cavey” by scrumpling up the paper to look more like a cave wall. We were meant to use natural colours again but we cheated instead and used paint so we could focus on our drawing and painting.
We had a second week of playing around with poetry. Again, we kept the themes basic (we even repeated ideas) with intention of using any real structure other than basic phrases. The children came up with some great ideas!

In RE, we looked at the different ways in which people show their beliefs through symbolic actions. Together, we came up with quite a list…
