Newsletter 25th June 2021

Another busy week in school! The staff have continued their training with Talk for Writing this week, as well as training with the OPAL framework, looking at how we can expand areas in school looking at the benefits of risk management and the possibilities as children grow on their play journey throughout their school years.

We have also managed to take part in a football tournament. It was great to see the children taking part, although not quite the same as we have experienced in previous years, it is great to see some normality and opportunities becoming available for the children again.

HOUSEPOINTS

School life

The Reception children have been minibeast hunting this week and we have been finding out about caterpillars and woodlice.

The Nursery children have been visiting Reception this week and they had a lovely time

Next week, on Monday 28th June, Year 6 will be walking from school to Laurence Jackson. This will be a great opportunity to familiarise themselves with the route they may walk in September and discuss places to wait and meet their friends on the way to school.

OPAL

This week saw yet more sand delivered. We are hoping that we can start using the sandpit from next week.

Thank you once again for all your kind donations towards our loose parts and small world areas.

We got some shiny new High Viz jackets for the children with their job roles on, helping to ensure playtimes and equipment run smoothly and are constantly available.

We are looking at sourcing a large tunnel (something along the lines of large drainage ones used by water companies and house builders) that we can create a tunnel and place some of the earth that we have recently dug up. We thought we would ask, just incase anyone knew anyone or might work for a company that might be able to donate one.

Golden Welly Award

Well done to the winners for this week!

galileo cup

There was a cup competition within the Trust schools last night. After a slow start, the team managed to win the league on goal difference making it to the final. In the final the team played exceptionally well, in a very tight game, and came out 1-0 winners, becoming the first winners of the Trust Cup, president to them by the Trust CFO. Well done to the whole team, as well as all the other teams, who all played exceptionally well!
