Overview and Details
The month of April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and Child Abuse Prevention Month. Throughout this month, the Keep Kids Safe coalition will raise awareness of sexual violence and promote events amplifying the voices of survivors.
On April 8, Keep Kids Safe partners will host a "relay" of events to honor the Day for Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, Healing and Justice:
- All day: Harvard University and The Catholic University of America will host a virtual symposium on Faith and Flourishing in the Face of Childhood Sexual Abuse (Hashtags: #April8WorldDay)
- 11am ET: Darkness to Light will host an "Honest Conversation" Facebook Live
- 2pm ET: The Army of Survivors, SNAP, and Together for Girls will host a Survivor Speak Out
- 6:30pm ET: CHILD USA will host a film screening of "Silent No More" (Hashtags: #windowtojustice #SOLReform #silentnomore)
- 9pm ET: RAINN will host a RAINN Day Celebration for Survivors (Hashtags: #RAINNDay #WontStayQuiet)
