From the Governors

The team of Governors met recently for our regular, half-termly Full Governing Board meeting. We began with a warm welcome to our two new Parent Governors, Laura Lock and Charlotte Sykes, who were attending their first meeting after joining the team. We then, as usual, discussed a wide range of different aspects of the school.

The Governors discussed the findings of a recent visit by the School Improvement Advisor, who works for Wiltshire Council. The report began by noting that Monkton Park School ‘continues to have a robust approach to meeting the needs of every individual child within the school, including disadvantaged learners and those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities’. We welcomed the fact that the report was very positive overall, and we also discussed some recommendations that were made.

We also took the opportunity to look at the great progress that has been made on refurbishing the bungalow, thanks to the efforts of so many people. It will be a fine addition to our facilities and we look forward to its use by the school and local community.

Our next meeting will take place on 29th June, following our Governor's Day, for which we look forward to spending time in school.

Finally, we would like to wish you and your families an enjoyable Half Term break.

Summer Picnic - Bunting

At the summer picnic we will be celebrating outdoor play and we would love it if the children could help us to decorate the field by contributing a flag to our bunting.

We would love to see their designs which represent what they love about being outdoors and playing.

Download the template below (It fits on to A4 Paper) or ask for a copy from the school office.

You can use any scrap material you have around- an old t-shirt or pillow case- cut out the flag shape.

Designs can then be drawn or painted direct onto the bunting flag.

Completed flags to be returned to school office by 5 June so we can begin sewing them all together!

We look forward to seeing all their amazing designs
