Headteacher Comment
Yesterday, Greenfields Primary School and Nursery put out an appeal to everyone in our community for items to support people fleeing from the chaos in Ukraine. Staff were overwhelmed with the response in this short time, and parcels have been coming into school all day. We have delivered our first drop this lunchtime, and are still collecting. There is more information further down the newsletter if you would like to know what to donate.
Everyone at Greenfields understands the impact of this conflict on every member of this community, with families in Ukraine or Russia, or in Poland, Moldova or Hungary, or wider European countries. Conflict is terrible for everyone concerned and we want to extend our thoughts and wishes for anyone who is affected, and their countries. We are always here to support everyone - please just ask.
Thank you for your continued support - I would like to wish you a peaceful weekend.

World Book Day
On Thursday, Greenfields celebrated World Book Day 2022 in style.! The children were invited to come in as their favourite book character. There were many convincing book characters that had come to life around school with some very inventive home-made costumes. Have a look at the pictures to see if you can spot your favorite character.
Cheeky Monkeys class had a fabulous World Book Day! They focused on Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll and made mad hats, decorated biscuits and had a Mad Hatters Tea Party! Everyone made a fantastic effort with their costumes and had a brilliant time!
Marvellous Meerkats had an incredible World Book Day too, They explored the book Alice in the Wonderland. Children had fun making magic 'drink me' potions, carried out drama and character role play and crated arts and crafts using a wide range of Art and DT resources.
Proud Lions were also rocking it on World Book Day, proving you are never too old to dress-up!
Shrove Tuesday
This week in Cookery Club the children enjoyed celebrating Shrove Tuesday. This term the children have also enjoyed making flapjacks and cakes. Yum Yum.
Excellent Slime
Excellent Elephants had a fun hook lesson for their new Talk 4 Writing unit! The children followed instructions and made their own slime 😊
Thank You Everyone

Class Code and Google Link
These have been updated for the classes in 2021-22, so click on the link for the class you will be in in September.
Teachers are looking forward to posting their ‘Flipping Greenfields’ videos every Friday next term in time for the weekend. Each one is all about next week’s learning, so will get your child prepared for a flying start on Monday. Research shows that children who feel prepared for the coming week are less anxious about school, happier to get up and go on a Monday morning and achieve better than those who are not.
