Lone Mountain Eagle Eye SeptemBer 19, 2022

Lone Mountain Families,

As we get ready to wrap up the first quarter of school next week, I am happy to say that our students spent the first quarter learning, growing, and creating here at LMES. I could not be prouder of the hard work that both students and teachers have done these past few weeks. I look forward to seeing what new learning and experiences our students have in the second quarter.

Next week is parent teacher conference week here at LMES. I hope that each family takes advantage of this opportunity to connect with their child's teacher to hear about the learning and growing that their child is doing each day here at LMES. If you do not have a time scheduled to meet with your child's teacher, please reach out to schedule one as we want all of our families to know that education is a partnership and we can't do this without you.

If you are wishing to meet and conference with one of our special area teachers, resource teachers, or reading success teacher please email them separately to set up a time.

"SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN

This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a monthly prize drawing.

Each week we also celebrate student behavior success with our Eagle Awards. Students are nominated weekly by their teachers and celebrated with an award of recognition.

4th-6th GRADE MATH CHALLENGE

K-KIDS AT LONE MOUNTAIN

K-Kids is a group of students in fifth and sixth grade here at Lone Mountain who are committed to discovering their passion to lead, serve, engage and collaborate with others to better the school and community. This month the students have partnered with Foothills Food Bank to try and receive some needed items in our community . Please join us in donating any of these items listed below. All donations can be brought to the front office at LMES. Thank you!

INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY CELEBRATION

We had this best time celebrating International Dot Day last week. Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration that began in 2009 and is based on the children's story The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage. Enjoy the pictures from this day.
