Week 3 - term 2a

Congratulations to Josh and Harriet for being in Golden Book and a huge well done to Tanisha and Krystal for being this weeks Stars of the Week!

In DT this week we continued to work on our steady hand game. In weeks 1 and 2 we learned about what makes games fun to play and all about function and form. This week we used a template of a cube of cuboid and decorated it. In the next week or two, wee will construct the wiring for the game and house it inside the box before we can play the games.

In English, we write dietary entries about The Blitz and also a newspaper article about staying safe during air raids. This tied in nicely with the work we did in History on The Blitz. Did you know, over 2 million homes were destroyed during the bombing raids of 1940?

We used some clips from YouTube, images from Google and a collection of sound effects to help us understand how terrifying the bombings were. The child write in role as a number of different people whose lives were being impacted by the war.

In RE, we thought about the relationship Muslims have with the Qur’an and Noah brought in his own Qur’an from home to support our work.

In Spanish, we continued to learn about different foods, this week we learned about paella, albondigas (meatballs), pollo asada (roast chicken), sopa (soup) and espagetti con tomate (spaghetti and tomato sauce).

Finally, well done to everyone for the effforts during our class asesembly. With little preparation, everyone spoke clearly and confidently about our history topic last half term, the Vikings.
