Winter Festivities
We had a lot of winter fun! Second grade had their annual Polar Express Day complete with a conductor and tickets. Their hallway was truly a winter wonderland! First grade celebrated Grinch week and had a surprise green visitor. Kindergarten put their engineering hats on to design and build chairs for elves. The Dawson County High School Chamber Chorale and Brass Ensemble were kind enough to visit our school and share their love for music. Our students created all kinds of artwork to display in our school and around the community to spread cheer! It was a great winter season!
Character Awards
We have been celebrating our students each month for demonstrating a character trait we have learned about. In second quarter, we have learned about and celebrated respect and empathy. We love getting to celebrate our students for demonstrating exceptional character and are so proud of them!
Winter Clothing
Our students are still loving the winter weather we are having. They are busy making snow angels, building snow forts, and throwing snowballs at the snowball targets. As a reminder, students are not allowed to leave the blacktop without proper snow gear including snow pants, coats, and snow boots. If your child is missing some of their gear, encourage them to check the lost and found. We have quite the collection!
Music Programs
All three of our grades performed and were able to show some of what they've learned so far this year in music. Our first and second graders put on a Pirate's Christmas and did absolutely amazing! Our students are so talented and it was so much fun to watch them perform. The solos, acting lines, and dancing were incredible. Our kindergarteners performed at Jefferson and they did so well. It's so fun to watch some of them perform for the first time. Thank you to everyone who came to watch and support our students!
