What is Rachel's Challenge?

A program that makes "schools safer, more connected places where bullying and violence are replaced with kindness and respect; and where learning and teaching are awakened to their fullest." ~

Proposed implementation in 2016 for Rachel's Challenge

1. 30 minutes of staff development day to introduce the program and get teacher buy in.

2. 30 min grade level introduction of Rachel's Challenge program. Kids will watch the video and sign the banner pledging to follow Rachel's Challenge

3. Links of kindness written by the kids that will be hung in the hall. **need approval from Bill to hang links ***need support from Adonya to recycle links at the end of the year.

4. Monthly morning assembly to promote R.C. And celebrate student kindness and successes

5. Challenges through out the school year to promote kindness. (Kindness competitions between the classes)

6. End of year celebration (assembly) to show how many acts of kindness were acknowledge in the school year.

Needed:

  • $750: goal is to use Donors choice to fund the project.
  • Paper for the links in the hall
  • Fishing line and clothes pins to hang the links
  • Staff support and encouragement to students
