Slice of Saugatuck Festival 2022 An Inkings photostory

The Slice of Saugatuck festival, run by the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce, was held for its 10th year on Saturday, Sept. 10. The festival took place by the Westport Train Station. Locals were able to taste test food from nearby restaurants, stop by local retailers and kids could participate in activities such as playing in the bouncy house or sitting in the vintage fire truck .

Proceeds of over $40,000 from the event were put towards the Gillespie Food Pantry, a local shelter that serves meals to those at risk of homelessness and others in need from the local community.

Based in Bridgeport, Silver Steel Band performed by Saugatuck Sweets for customers.
Workers from The Whelk posed in front of their booth, serving fresh oysters.
Tarantino's Restaurant served their customers fresh pasta with vegetables alongside their meat lasagna.
Another Saugatuck staple restaurant that participated in the festival, Harvest, contributed many small samples of dishes for people to taste.
Kids tested out the vintage fire truck set up on display at the Westport station.

Lieutenant Anthony Maisano ran the booth for the fire department as he handed out hats, toys and fire safety information.
Allium Eatery, which opened this past year, served samples of turkey and tomato soup while promoting their business model as a market Tuesdays through Thursdays as well as a dinner destination on Thursdays through Saturdays.
Crowds gathered throughout the festival to support local restaurants and taste the food they had to offer.
Romanacci advertised their restaurant to attendees of the festival by serving their classic fresh pizza.
