School life

What another fantastic week with over 95% of the school accessing the remote learning. There have been some wonderful pieces of art, amazing cooking skills, beautifully crafted writing, determination in completing maths and wonderful conversations on Teams.

Here is just a snippet of what you have all been getting up to this week!

Lunch in school

To help with numbers and ordering of food, whilst we have reduced numbers in school. please can you complete the Parentmail form to help us with this. Thank you.

Coffee and chat

Thank you to everyone who turned up for the 'Coffee and chat' session this week. I am hoping to do this every couple of weeks. The idea is to take feedback from you, see what else we can do to help and support as well as give you a chance to talk amongst yourselves as well. Look out for the next one soon!

Resources

If you need anything like exercise books for children to record their work in, please let us know and we can arrange a time for you to come and collect some from the main office. Reading books will not be able to go home at this moment in time. We are looking at what we can offer.

Assembly

You can find this weeks assembly below

We have set up a new team on Teams with the whole school in. There will be an assembly on a Monday and Friday for you join in with. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Monday morning at 10am.

WELL BEING SUPPORT

Finally

It is wonderful to see how the whole Galley Hill community have pulled together, once again, over the past two weeks. It is a real privilege to see how parents, carers, children and staff have all rallied together to make the best of the current situation for the children in school and those at home.

I would also like to say a big Thank You to all the staff in school. The cleaners who make sure that we can continue to come into school, Mr. Unthank who ensures that the site is safe (especially over the past two days clearing snow and ice), all the Kitchen staff who have continued to adapt to the changes in school, the office staff who continue to keep up with last minute changes. The teaching assistants and teachers who continue to adapt to whatever is thrown their way. I would also like to thank all of you at home, for continuing to be amazing with everything you are doing at home, and working with us through every step of this journey.

Take care, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.

Mr McGeeney
