Staffing Changes for next academic year

We will be seeing a few new faces at school next year. As already shared earlier in the year Mrs Douglas, our deputy head, will be retiring. We will also be saying farewell to Mr Slee, Ms Evans & Mrs McNicol whilst Mrs Lazenby will be taking maternity leave. Mr Slee will now be taking on a new role at the Department for Education, Ms Evans is relocating back to Wales and Mrs McNicol will also be retiring. All will be leaving at the end of this academic year but I am sure you will join us in wishing them all the very best of luck.

In September we will be welcoming Mr Joe Williams, Miss Cali Gough and Mrs Wendy Dixie to the team and the children will get to meet them during our move up morning on Thursday 14th July. To help us with our new class lists, we will again be asking parents to put three friends down through our online survey. Further details be be sent after half term.

Scarecrow Trail

Huge thanks to the FOMPS team for organising such a successful Scarecrow Trail last week. We were delighted to see so many of you attend and hope you had a great time around the trail.

Jubilee Outdoor Day

We had a fantastic outdoor day yesterday. Photos will follow after half term. We wanted to say a huge thank you to Morrisons for providing us with scones, cream and jam for our 'Campfire Cream Tea'.

Thank you to all of the children who made Bunting and "Seeds of Hope" paper-chains. These are now all on display in Morrisions.

Monkton Mole Awards

Well done to: Isla, Ada, Catherine, Harry, John, Belle, Emily, Oscar, Ava and Alvina

Bikeability

Bikeability Group 1 session dates are Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th June. Please don't forget bikes and helmets on the first day back at school. The group will not need to wear school uniform. Bikes will need to be in full working order to take part in the sessions.

FOMPS

Thank you to everyone who took part in this year's Scarecrow Trail. It was an huge success, with 47 scarecrows built, and 368 trail sheets sold! We raised an amazing £2,500. Thank you to all the organisers, volunteers, and sponsors who helped to make this event happen.

To see all of this year's scarecrows (and the answers) follow this link

All of the scarecrows were amazing, but the scarecrows that received the most votes were:

1st place #42 King Kong

2nd place #46 Louis XVI

3rd place #16 King Julien

There were some tricky scarecrows this year, so congratulations to The Smart Family, who got the most correct answers.

Congratulations to Tanya, who won the Raffle.

We were very impressed with all the entries for the Design a Scarecrow competition. It wasn't easy to choose but Amelia Roberts (age 4) won with her entry of a beautiful 3d design!
