Head Massage Workshop with Monika. Saturday, 16 July, 14:00–18:30
Since ages massage has been considered as one of the most powerful healing techniques. I would love to introduce you to this powerful kalari head massage. It relieves headaches, gives a deep relaxation and reduces tension. I truly believe giving this kind of massage to your dearest ones is a perfect way of saying: i love it. Learn it by heart and take it home with you. Spread the good. :) The workshop is dedicated to all the people. You do not need to be a kalari student to participate and you do not need to have any experience with the massage. Although, if you do, it will work in your favor. :)
Part 1 – Introduction – What is massage. Different styles and techniques. How can we affect our whole system through the touch. Anatomy of the head and a face. Different kinds of touch. I will guide slightly you through the history of massage and the anatomy of a head and a face. Then we will try different kinds of touch to understand what it makes with our body and see how we react.
Part 2 – Kalari Head Massage – I will show you the lying down kalari head massage so you can take the notes. Later, we will do it in pairs making sure everybody gives and receives.
What do you need for the workshop: a bunch of good energy to be shared, a willingness to receive some as well, a blanket or a mat to lie down, a coconut oil or anything you like to use on the face. We will have a break between Part 1 and Part 2.
Price – 70 Euro

Kalari Chikitsa is the medical side of Kalarippayat. It’s a therapeutic system based on marmas (energy points) and nadis (energy chanels). Those points are used both for healing and overpowering the enemy. Marma damaged, whether as a result of injury or through energy blockade, almost always results in disease, often chronic. And so – recurrent lumbar pain, sciatica, tight shoulders, headaches – all this is the result of a blocked flow of prana (life energy). Kalari massage unblocks the channels, purifies the marmas and brings back the proper flow of energy. On the anatomic level it stimulates the blood circulation, cleans the body from toxins, strengthens the muscles, removes deposits lying in the joints and organs. It stimulates the metabolism, removes cellulite and gives the skin elasticity and smoothness.
