TechSmart Grant Project

TechSmart Grant Project

IT, in close partnership with the Mt Hood Cable Regulatory Commission (MHCRC), the PPS Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL), the PPS Office of School Performance (OSP), and other key stakeholders have embarked on a $10 million, five-year project to promote PPS’s goal of having all students reading at grade level by the 3rd Grade.

The partnership, grant, and project integrates curriculum and practices developed by the PK-5 Literacy Adoption with technology-rich learning environments within pilot classrooms. Five schools have been upgraded coming into this school year: Bridger, Grout, Lewis, Sitton, and Vernon. Five additional schools will be added per year for the next three years.

The project is designed for continuous improvement with each year’s successes driving the next year’s experience. In order to create the technology-rich learning environment needed in the schools’ K-3 classrooms and complement the new blended learning curriculum and practices, all building classrooms received extensive technology upgrades and supports including 2:1 student-to-device ratios in grades K-3.

I'm still calling it Google Apps.
