Principal's Post

1.7.22 - Happy New Year! I hope that all of our Mustangs had a wonderful break.

Each year, Citadel Credit Union honors teachers from around Chester County for their efforts. Our district has even had the privilege of having some educators being honored with the Citadel Heart of Learning Award. If you feel inclined, please take a few minutes to nominate one of our SM team members using the link below.

Please note that that the week of January 24 we will be holding an intruder drill. There will be follow up communication after our practice. Our Mustangs did an awesome job with our previous drills, I have no doubt that they will do great with this one, too!

Make sure that you are receiving emails from DASD and SM. Check your SPAM and Junk Folders frequently as it is being reported many emails are ending up there! Use the link below for further support.

Students then can upload one picture that goes with the theme of the month. Pictures will be added to the wall outside our cafeteria!

News from the Nurses

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for kids!

Did you know that a balanced breakfast that includes protein and carbohydrates from whole grains, fruits and/or vegetables will help your child sustain mental and physical energy until the next meal? When protein is included with breakfast, it helps to rev up the metabolism, keep blood sugar levels steady and give the kids the energy they need. Adding protein to breakfast prevents the mental and physical declines that inevitably come from eating an unbalanced breakfast containing too many carbs. Here are some quick breakfast ideas that you and your children should try:

  • Hard boiled eggs on whole wheat toast
  • Greek yogurt and fruit
  • Quinoa and fruit
  • Oatmeal and peanut butter
