Content Info For The Week
Math (Swindell, Beasley, and Meeks):
Students will continue working on transformations focusing this week on reflections and dilations.
Algebra I (Meeks):
Algebra 1 will begin working with the Pythagorean Theorem at the beginning of the week. Towards the end of the week, scholars will begin exploring functions.
ELA (Styron and Bright):
This week scholars in Mr. Styron's ELA class will evaluate the quality of the thesis statement, ideas, details, and conclusions in an informative essay, gather and analyze relevant information from multiple sources, write an informative essay to examine a topic and convey ideas, concepts, and information through the selection, organization, and analysis of relevant content, use transitions to introduce evidence in writing, and lastly with guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing by planning, revising, and editing.
ELA (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will continue reading The Outsiders. During this novel study, we will be focusing on different narrative elements, including characterization and components of plot.
9th Grade Lit (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will begin writing their narrative based on The Odyssey. Students will write a narrative that focuses on an original "trial" that our epic hero, Odysseus, must face.
Science (Carver and Lewis):
Students will be learning how to read the periodic table by groups.
Social Studies (MacArthur and Lewis):
This week in Mr. MacArthur's class, student will begin reviewing for their first summative test of the year. Student will have study materials to work on throughout the week for their test on Friday.
