For over forty-four years, ACTS College has provided holistic theological training for leaders. As we celebrate our 45th Anniversary in 2022, we reaffirm our mission of providing training that brings students to a living knowledge of God in the process of empowering them to transform lives and society. We are committed to providing students with holistic learning experiences through the following:

• Learning to be

We challenge students to deepen their relationship with Christ and with one another. Learning at ACTS is more than just attending modules and completing assignments. Our primary focus is learning to mature in Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit and share our rich experiences of God with others in the world. Our prayer is that students will have a learning encounter with God in their lessons and with their learning community in every conversation—whether in class, along the corridor, or during the coffee breaks—and find greater significance in everything they do.

• Learning to know

We provide learning experiences to encourage students to think theologically and engage with the world. Our education is not merely a transference of information. Following Paul’s exhortation, we believe that the solid Word of Christ should dwell richly in students so that they may wisely teach and counsel others and worship with a grateful heart before God (Col. 3:16). This learning process includes the development of an intellectual capability to listen, think critically, and respond to given situations, as well as a spiritual posture of thankfulness towards God.

• Learning to live together

Living in a connected world today, we cannot afford to live and work like lone rangers as before. We encourage learning as a community of God’s people/followers. Students can develop social skills and values to respect and be concerned for one another and appreciate diversity in all its forms. We challenge students to learn actively through collaboration and achieve success through teamwork—thinking critically, negotiating differing opinions, and resolving conflicts as a group in the solution-building process. Coming to classes is more than just memorising facts to get A’s; it includes every individual proactively learning to make friends, building a network of relationships, and engaging with the world. By working together, we will be able to fulfil the mission of the One who called us.

• Learning to do

Recognising that each of us has our unique calling from God, we strive to equip students so that they can fulfil their vocational calling—whether as lay-leaders or full-time ministers. We encourage students to discover their vocational calling and giftings. By understanding their vocational calling, students can then sharpen their leadership, ministry and communication skills and competencies to serve God. Their reading, class interaction, and practicum experiences can become more intentional as we guide students in their journey of discovery and learning.

• Learning to transform

As a learning community, we seek to empower leaders to succeed in transforming lives and society. Preparation to effectively serve Christ involves a learning process where students can gain knowledge, develop skills, and acquire new values. Equipped with tools and mindsets for creating lasting change in communities and empowered by the Holy Spirit, they will be agents of transformation to fulfil the mission of God to transform lives and society.
