Congratulations!
We always like to start with sharing the good news! Congratulations to Don Muccilli and Obenstaat kennels on their "F" litter. Four puppies and Mom are all doing well. Puppies will head off to their hunting homes in late Summer.
Congratulations to Joe Wapenski! He got approved by the JGHV Judging Board to be a JGHV Judge! This is a huge accomplishment as he had to Apprentice several different tests, pass his own dog in a VGP, and pass a written exam. Well done Joe!
VJP SUCCESS!

A heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all the handlers who ran their puppies in a VJP this spring. Out of 43 eligible puppies, 18 ran with an average score of 67 and a 100% passing rate. We had a number of Suchensieger pups earning the highest score in their testing groups. Overall, the young DLs came to the test well-prepared and represented the breed well.

VJP data provides meaningful information about the natural hunting abilities within the breed and the more data we can collect, the better we can understand how our breeding efforts are measuring up. On top of that, well-bred and well-prepared dogs are a great representation to other JGHV members who may not be very familiar with the Deutsch Langhaar breed.

A special thank you to the breeders who assisted puppy buyers by helping to find test slots, hosting training days, and encouraging new folks to get out and test. It can be an intimidating system for a newcomer and we often rely on breeders to serve as ambassadors. This year saw a historically high percentage of VJP participation and we really appreciate everything that the breeders did to make that happen. Best of luck to everyone who is preparing for and running in an HZP this fall!
A fresh new look!
We are excited to announce the launch of our NEW DL-GNA website! This year DL-GNA is celebrating our 15th year as a club in North America. We thank each of you for your support and commitment to the breed.
The new website offers a fresh look for our breed, ease of navigation, smartphone compatibility, and some behind the scenes changes that will allow us to ensure information is accurate and consistent. There are still a few small updates we are working on, but for the most part everything is in order, and we invite you to take a look and let us know what you think.

Our Loved Ones
Recently, DL-GNA members and many others were saddend to learn of the passing of Brian Rohling. "B" had a personality that would fill every room he entered. For those of us that knew him, we all can probably think of more than a few times that he made us belly laugh. Please keep his wife; Kayla, and his children, his parents; Beth and Hermann, and the rest of Brian's family in your thoughts. We will all miss you, B.
Losing a loved one is never easy. We know that our dogs also create a void in our hearts when we lose them too. A few members of our club recently lost their dogs and our hearts go out to you.

I know that you must miss me, By the tears rolling down your face. But believe me when I tell you that, I'm in a very good place.
There are meadows here to run in, And plenty of rabbits to chase. There are other dogs to play with, To frolic with and race.
So please don't worry about me, My spirit feels light as can be. There's no more pain to plague me, I'm young again and free.
And I'll be watching over you still, of that you can be sure. I'm your canine guardian angel, And my love for you remains pure.

The Game Fair
The Annual MN Game Fair is happening in August and we are excited to have a booth to share information about our dogs. It is two weekends; August 11, 12 and 13, as well as 18, 19, 20. Mark your calendars for DL-Fest 2023! Members of DL-GNA are invited to Timber Lake, SD for another wonderful get together hosted by Jake and Jodi Kraft. Member's should watch their emails for all the details.
