Personal Information

An award winning artist, Maja Kerin, is known for her unique 'painting photography' style, creating emotion filled abstract artworks.

Monaco based photographer has been honing her skills in abstract photography for the past several years. Originally a portrait photographer, Maja blended her photography skills with her spiritual growth journey, bringing about a perfect marriage of her two passions.

Maja's work is very much inspired by two themes, nature and cityscapes. The nature influenced work comes from her roots growing up in Slovenia. And then there is the other love, the love for London. She moved to London in her early twenties and lived there for 13 years. The heartbeat of this city shaped her personality and her work.

Her painting photography style often emphasises the colour. Maja believes in colour as a healing tool that propels a feeling of wellbeing and inner peace.

The use of camera painting technique allows Maja to challenge the boundaries of classic photography utilising the energy vibration to tell stories, which explore the depths of movement and composition.

Artist Statement

'I like to explore the human essence and its relationship with the world around us. The world is multidimensional and everything is energy. My images explore our relationship with the physical and spiritual layers of the world. Using ICM technique allows me to freeze the moment in layers of movement. The use of multi exposure, allows me create an ethereal sense, almost paint the exact moment of escape, from one place to another.

As colour can affect the fundamental sense of self and is considered to be a healing tool, my photography takes a viewer on a journey of well-being and inner peace.' MAJA KERIN
