Deploying Digital Interventions in Care Homes- GM’s Response to COVID-19 A digital futures event - July 29 2020

This Connected Health Ecosystem event was held virtually on Wednesday 29th July and focused on Greater Manchester’s response to COVID-19 and the latest innovation for care homes which will offer better visibility for clinicians and care workers on elderly residents who are at risk.

Chaired by Digital Futures Health and Care theme lead Professor Niels Peek, the event was interspersed with short Q&A sessions with the attendees and numerous guest speakers from academia and industry.

Andy Bleaden gave a short introductory update on the ECH Alliance which was followed by an overview of the development and roll-out of the Safe Steps COVID-19 Symptom tracker from different perspectives. The health system perspective was given by Jay Hamilton, a clinical view was provided by Martin Vernon, an academic perspective was given by Nicky Cullum whilst a supplier perspective was provided by Lee Omar.

An update on Greater Manchester's digital response to COVID-19 followed and was provided by Guy Lucchi.

Lloyd Gregory and Arjun Sikand presented a research call on NHSX AI in Health & Care which was followed by an industry partner showcase by Azad Deghan. Deghan provided an overview of DeepCognito's work which focuses on bridging the gap between research and industry.

After a successful and engaging series of presentations and Q&A sessions, the event was soon brought to a close.
