Monday, August 22, 2022

Dear University community,

  • Welcome to Fall @ TAMIU! We welcome all our new and returning students, faculty and staff and look forward to a Fall of meaning and relevance as we continue our “reset” after our shared COVID-19 Pandemic journey.
  • This Saturday was a beehive of activity at TAMIU as students took part in Move-in Day to get set up in student housing. Others took full advantage of "Unfinished Business: A TAMIU Open House and Welcome Day" to register for classes and meet with other offices, including Admissions Financial Aid, Testing and Student Health. Thanks to the staff and volunteers who helped ensure that both initiatives succeeded.
  • Welcome Week is Aug. 22 – Friday, Aug. 26 with activities happening across campus and culminating Friday with a firework display during “Dusty’s Firework Extravaganza” at 10 p.m. at the North Practice Field. Parking is available at the Academic Innovation Center (AIC). The fireworks display is sponsored by the University’s Alumni Association. Find out more and join the celebration!
  • Late Registration continues through Friday, Aug. 26. For detailed information, visit https://news.tamiu.edu/fall22
  • Wondering what the Fall may have in store for you? Take a peek at our online Fall 2022 Preview and get the news. You’ll find that we have a great Fall ahead. Hear from our Deans on their thoughts on the Fall Semester on our YouTube Channel.
  • If you know of someone who hasn't been able to finish their degree due to financial constraints, they may be interested in our #Comeback Programs. The Programs help resuming students determine the best choices available for them to complete their degree at TAMIU.
  • Please note that COVID-19 continues to be a threat here, across our State, nation and world. The use of recommended face coverings/masks, and rigorous hand-washing can help reduce your exposure risk. Learn more about on-campus testing.
  • In addition, Monkeypox is a rare disease caused by infection with the monkeypox virus. As the disease also remains a threat to college campuses, TAMIU students are encouraged to remain informed about the disease via a CDC Monkeypox website, which includes disease FAQs. Learn more.
  • Bookmark our online COVID-19 Response Center to keep up to date on both of these health challenges.

Go Dustdevils …let’s make it a great Fall @ TAMIU!
