For years, Matt and I have enjoyed just hopping in the truck and driving around to see what we can find. He is typically looking for deer, turkeys or any other wildlife that he can find. I always have my camera just waiting for the right place to tell him to "Stop the truck". He likes to give me a hard time because anytime he sees a barn that is falling down, hay bales or rickety old fences, he knows that he is going to have to stop the truck so I can wander around to get the photo that I envision in my head. Thank the Lord for giving me a patient husband!
We hiked through the trees for a little bit until we hit the river. It was so quiet and peaceful down there. I could have stayed for hours but we were running out of light.
I recently read a quote that really helped me understand why I love these little photo adventures.
In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. ~John Muir
I really do leave these little adventures with a little more peace in my soul than I had before I went. It is a time for me to unwind and not worry about anything at all. No one needs me for anything, no schedules or to-do's running through my head. It is just me, my camera and God's beautiful world - and usually Matt too. :)
Does anyone else take "photo adventures" like this? I have actually considered organizing a photo walk but I am not sure if there is enough interest. So, really, if you are interested, let me know!
It was time to start walking back out before it got dark. It always amazes me how fast the sun goes down.
But...we still had to "stop the truck" one more time before we headed for home. I forgot to mention that we typically have to stop at bridges too...
I would love to hear about your adventures and would definitely love to see your photos. Until next time,
Becky
