"I had great bikes, cool riders, and like all of my work, I'm trying to tell a story. You have a vision, so you scout, you shoot, you edit, and finally there's post; that's where the magic lives..."
He had planned out his studio shots with an ulterior motive. After award-winning photographer-illustrator Chris Clor pored over the thousand-plus images he took during the London motorcycle project, he found the necessary ammo he was looking for. Itching to revisit a favorite topic, he wanted to put together a series using this content that went outside the confines of the shoot. In 2012, Chris collaborated with screenwriter Sam Peter Jackson on Smoke Without Fire, a graphic novel exploring film noir cliches from cinema past and present. It was a theme he hadn't entirely gotten out of his system. So with the main part of the shoot behind him, he took the studio shots to the streets and went wild. Through hours of manipulation and compositing in post, Chris put together a body of work that pays homage to the movie genre with the same dark mood, evoking noir classics from The Maltese Falcon to Sin City.

Chris strives to add something magical to every image he creates, framing the piece with nuanced details that enhance the theme. Fans of his work especially love that he chooses to omit just enough to allow the imagination of the viewer to complete the story.
