LOWER BRIDGE HOUSE PORT CHARLOTTE, ISLE OF ISLAY

Lower Bridge House is situated in Port Charlotte village, within easy walking distance of Port Charlotte Pier and two sandy beaches. If you fancy dining out, the house is only minutes away from Port Charlotte Hotel, The Lochindaal Hotel, Lochindaal Seafood Restaurant, while Port Mòr Community Café is about a mile further south, on the edge of the village.

Nearby are Islay Nature Centre, home to Islay Natural History Trust, and the award-winning Museum of Islay Life. The local shop and Post Office are also within easy walking distance

Lower Bridge House consists of a unique, ground floor property comprising one double room, one twin room, an open plan living room/kitchen with breakfast bar for dining, and a shower room and toilet.

Amenities consist of fridge, washing machine/dryer microwave, along with a TV, Wi-Fi and hairdryer. The house is fully centrally heated, features fitted smoke alarms and bed linen and towels are supplied. There is free, on-street parking close by.

HOW TO GET HERE

BY CAR: From Glasgow, drive to Kennacraig - this journey should take approximately two and a half hours, or longer should you wish to take in the beautiful scenery. Take the A82 up Loch Lomondside, turning onto the A83 at Tarbet - continue on through both Inveraray and Lochgilphead towards Tarbert on Loch Fyne. The ferry port of Kennacraig is just five miles on from Tarbert. Please note that Kennacraig is simply a ferry terminal and not a town or village. It is clearly signposted on the Tarbert- Campbeltown road.

BY FERRY: Caledonian MacBrayne operate the two hour crossing which runs throughout the year, with additional sailings during the summer season. BY AIR: Loganair operates a twice-daily service, Monday to Friday, from Glasgow Airport. Flights are once daily, Saturday and Sunday. loganair.co.uk

On arrival on Islay, follow the road signs to Bridgend before turning towards Port Charlotte. Lower Bridge House is on the left side of the road, just past Port Charlotte Hotel.
