Learning Conversations, Coaching and Mentoring in Term 3 and 4
These ‘coaching moments’ or learning conversations have occurred across the school at every age and stage with a teachers and PSAs carrying out a number each week. They have reflected on what’s ‘going well’ for the pupil, discussing what skills they want to develop, their next steps and how to achieve them. These Learning Conversations have been accompanied by Staff Profesional Development.
Pitfour Resilience Programme
Our Pupils have been working on the Resilience Programme this term. They have looked at 2 Units:
- Being Resilient
- Keeping Connected
The programme aims to help children to develop skills to support their own wellbeing at school and in life, providing practical strategies and tools to help children cope with the ups and downs of life. It contains all the materials required to deliver a whole school programme and is embedded in the curriculum as well as in the general life of the school. One of the reasons we have chosen this programmes is so that we can promote partnerships with families and the wider school community. Have a look at the overview of the programme by clicking on the button below.

A recent achievement for James outwith school was him starting to play mini football festivals with his team Mintlaw Boys Club this month!
Fruity Fridays
What are Fruity Fridays?
Every Friday we invite all pupils to substitute the snack that they might normally bring to school for a piece of fruit. During the week, school prefects go around the class asking the pupils what fruit they would like. Every month we celebrate the class that regularly consumes the most fruit.
Why fruit?
Fruit and vegetables are a good source of the nutrients that children need and form part of a healthy, balanced diet.
It's recommended that children – like adults – eat at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day.
Primary 6 Buddies
Primary 7 were involved in helping prepare the Primary 6 pupils (next years' Primary 7s) as buddies for Nursery who will begin their transition into P1 over the coming weeks and months.
Sofiya, Izabella and Grace explained to the Primary 6 Pupils what was meant by, service in the community, empathy and respect to others. They also explained their point of view on the duties and responsibilities of House Captains and Prefects.
