Marco Polo was an explorer who lived in Venice, Italy. Marco Polo was born in 1271 in Venice.When he was 17 years old, he started his first expedition. He went to China and met with Kublai Kahn to see if he could explore China. Kublai Kahn allowed him to explore. He traveled by land and sea and faced many obstacles. It took him 90 days to cross a big desert. There were strong winds that sounded like voices. If you followed them you would get lost.
