Infrared light is a part of the EM spectrum. This is the most common ray that humans encounter. It is invisible to human eyes but can be felt as heat.
Can be described as the waves that are the most visible to human eyes. A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 390 to 700 nm. In terms of frequency, this corresponds to a band in the vicinity of 430–770 THz.
An electromagnetic wave of high energy and short wavelength, which is able to pass through many materials opaque to light.
Gamma Rays have the shortest wavelength and and the most energy out of all electromagnetic waves. These waves are generated by radioactive atoms and nuclear explosions. Gamma rays can be useful for killing cells as well, such as cancer cells.
UV rays are viable to the human eye. It makes a purple light but it is often called a black light. It is responsible for sun burns and sun tans.
